From Fethiye the popular tourist resorts of Calis, Hisaronu and Oludeniz are all easily reached for those that like to explore that little further.
The seemingly endless and unspoilt beach of Patara is just a 40km drive from Kemer which is easily reached through the picturesque countryside with its stunning mountain ranges which are snow-capped in the winter months. Patara is one of Turkeys most beautiful beaches and even in the height of summer it is never crowded and the absence of development and no water sports means that it is always peaceful. The beach has soft sand and shallow sea. It is the one of the places that sea turtle leave their eggs, because of this, the beach is under protection. It is bordered on its ends by mountains and along its length by sand dunes with its Eastern-most point having a rocky outcrop looking over a spectacular rocky cove. There are also ancient city ruins to explore for those interested in Archaeological sites and Lycian history.
